Yung Chen
Electric Coach
Yung is a longtime Alameda resident and software product leader with 15+ years of experience in residential solar and clean energy. She enjoys helping neighbors work through home electrification in a practical, step-by-step way.
As an electric coach, Yung can be a trusted guide as you explore your electrification journey, including:
- Understanding the benefits of electrification
- Deciding which projects to take on, and in what order
- Finding incentives and contractor options
- Thinking through costs, savings, payback, and return on investment
- Preparing for and working with contractors
Her goal is to make the process feel less overwhelming and help you move forward with confidence.

Michelle Malanca Frey

Michelle Malanca Frey speaks, writes, and organizes events on creating our all-electric future.
With over two decades of experience in sustainable building and as an electrification policy advisor and trained Electric Coach, Michelle can speak to your group or company about the why and how of electrification, powering our cities with clean energy, and creating the future we need.

Carmen Henrikson
Electric Coach
After 25+ years of designing and implementing energy efficiency and electrification policies and programs across California and the U.S, Carmen recently completed the full electrification of her own Alameda home.
It was an adventure in moving from policy to practice! Navigating the electrification process led Carmen to become a certified electric coach with a primary interest in working locally to support neighbors, friends, and family achieve their goals and enjoy all the benefits of an electrified life! Carmen would be thrilled to share insights on the process and decision-making, funding and rebates, evaluating options and proposals, and hard-earned lessons learned.
