SUMMARY:Alameda Climate Strike
DESCRIPTION:September 20th is the global climate strike. We are calling for everyone to join us. This past month\, CASA Youth has been planning an “Alameda Climate Strike”\, with different tiers of engagement so that anyone can participate in the global action. We will also be asking teachers to conduct teach-ins throughout the school day\, where they will lead classroom discussions around the climate crisis. The final tier involves Alameda students taking public transportation and joining the SF climate strike itself. \n  \nAlameda Student Meeting Location is Fruitvale BART Station @ 9:00 AM on Sept 20th. Look for students with signs saying “Climate Strike”!! \nGeneral Strike FAQ & Tiers of Engagement for Sept. 20th \nWhat is the significance of September 20th? \nOn September 20\, three days before the UN Climate Summit in NYC\, young people and adults will strike all across the US and world to demand transformative action be taken to address the climate crisis. We do not wish to alienate anyone who wishes to get involved.
